REPORT ON SENIOR THREE (S3) AND SENIOR FIVE (S5) PARENTS’ MEETING TERM III – 29th OCTOBER 2025 The meeting for Senior Three (S3) and Senior Five (S5) parents was held on 29th October 2025 at Koro Secondary School. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss students’ academic performance, discipline, and general conduct during the term. Mr. Nyuma Lawrence Wiri , the Deputy Head Teacher, reported that many students normally report late to school. He also raised concern over poor payment of school dues and increasing indiscipline cases among Senior Three students . He called upon parents to take a more active role in guiding and monitoring their children’s behavior. The Director of Studies, Mr. Onekalit Kenneth , informed parents that the school is offering academic bursaries to students who attain an average score of 70% and above in examinations. He, however, noted that the general academic performance remains at a minimal level and encouraged both students and parents to work hard...
   On 15th October 2025, the school was honored to receive The Right Reverend Bishop Godfrey Loum on a pastoral visit during which he confirmed 20 students into the Anglican faith and blessed 117 UCE and 69 UACE candidates as they prepared for their national examinations. The event, which attracted several political dignitaries, parents, teachers, and students, was both spiritual and inspiring. In his message, Bishop Loum encouraged learners to remain faithful, disciplined, and hardworking, emphasizing moral uprightness and commitment to God. "Be Responsible"

 
  Earlier today, the staff of the school gathered to discuss preparations for the upcoming pastoral visit of Bishop Loum Godfrey , scheduled for 3rd October 2025 , when candidates will be blessed and confirmation ceremony. The meeting provided an opportunity to review arrangements, consider the roles each staff member will play, and ensure that everything is in place for the event. Contributions were shared thoughtfully, and there was a shared sense of responsibility among the staff to make the visit meaningful and well-organized.
  On 16 August 2025, the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) conducted a workshop in Lira City for ICT teachers and headteachers aimed at strengthening ICT teaching and examination readiness in schools. The training was facilitated by Mr. Opiro Benerd, a UNEB examiner, who guided participants through both theory and practical sessions focusing on the key “do’s and don’ts” for national ICT examinations. Mr. Okello Christopher (ICT Teacher) and Mr. Ouma Justin (Assistant Director of Studies) attended alongside other educators. The workshop provided practical demonstrations on exam workstation setup, marking standards, time management strategies, and candidate guidance, as well as discussions on challenges such as limited resources and supervision. Participants appreciated the training, noting it would enhance their delivery of ICT lessons and improve compliance with UNEB examination protocols.   Koro Secondary School is commited to provide quality educatoin and equiping learners with pratical skills that meet national standerds, and in line with this mision the school organzed an ICT seminer on 15th Septmber 2025 aimed at preparing Senior candidates for their forth coming Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) assesments. The seminer, facilitated by Mr. Opiro Benerd, an experinced UNEB examinar who handle both theory and pratical ICT papers, was design to familarize students with current trends and expecttations in ICT exminations, offer pratical tips on how to aproach both theory and pratical papers, and motivate and build confindence among candidates ahead of the national examinantions. Out of 19 candidates enrolled for ICT at Koro Secondary School, 17 students atended, reflecing the enthusasm of the learnners and their recogniton of the seminer’s importnce. S2 and S3 Parents Meeting

The meeting was purposely to communicate academic plan for year 2025. It was reported that the school is experiencing exponential improvement in terms of academics and co-curricular activities evidenced by UACE performance were the best students in the name of Opiyo Erick scored 18points and in the ongoing district football champion both boys and girls won the trophies and they are representing Omoro District in regional competition that will take place in Nywoya District. 

FRIDAY'S EVENING ASSEMBLY

According to duty teachers Mr. Okello Christopher,  Mr. Okumu Jimmy and Ms. Abwot Hellen Okello, the week had alot of activities such as blood donation,  sending of players to Koch Ongago,  Wednesday prayer,  Lessons and parents meeting. Students were urged to keep the spirit of hard work and love one another as they love themselves.

RENU Internet usage supervision

There was supervision this morning were a team of Network technicians from RENU visited the school to check on the internet that was installed few weeks ago. According to Okello Christopher ICT teacher,  the internet is functioning perfectly and it has boosted research among teaching staff and students though there's challenges of small computer laboratory room.

INTER-SCHOOLS FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025

The students loading into the school truck heading to Koch Ongako were the after-school football championship for Omoro District will take place. According to Mr. Okello Ocira there will be screening of players today's evening then tomorrow in the morning real football matches shall kick off.He further said last year both boys and girls performed very well and he believes that this year they'll emerge the winner. The students had ample time for practice from a well trained coach. Report by Okello Christopher. 

RENU INTERNET CONNECTION

Research in Education Network of Uganda (RENU) has entered into an agreement with the school were for the first year the school will have free internet access. The for second year and third year there shall be cost sharing. According to the headteacher Mr. Okumu Jimmy the internet will promote research for both teachers and staff. This will help in the implementation of the competency based curriculum which is learner's centered. S4 Project Activities

S4 2025 Candidates are in the implementation stage of their project activities. The theme for the 2024 UNEB project was "Skills and Innovation for a sustainable living ". The project coordinator Mr. Odong Alfred said students are progressing well. The project aims to produce a multipurpose charcoal saving stoves that will help protect the environment. S4 AND S6 PARENT'S MEETING 2025

Today 13th March 2025 , the school administration has organized a parent meeting for the candidate class. The deputy headteacher reported that they have recorded late reporting of learners to school and poor turn up in payment by parents. He further said the performance of last year UCE was good but they should work together for a better result. Finally he said the ministry has connected the school to RENU network which will provide free access to internet in the school. Report by Okello Christopher.
