REPORT ON THE OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF THE ICT CLUB
On Tuesday 24th February 2026, the school officially launched the ICT Club in partnership with the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) KAWA Uganda. The event marked an important step in strengthening digital literacy and innovation among learners.
Purpose of the ICT Club
The ICT Club was established to equip learners with practical ICT knowledge and skills that will prepare them for the digital world. The club aims to nurture creativity, innovation, research skills, and responsible use of technology among students.
Remarks by the ICT Club Patron
The ICT Club Patron, Mr. Denis Ocen, reported that the club will greatly help learners build their careers in ICT. He explained that through regular meetings, practical sessions, and projects, students will develop skills in:

He emphasized that the club will improve learners’ research abilities by teaching them how to search for reliable information, evaluate sources critically, and use digital tools effectively for academic work.
Remarks by the Headteacher
The Headteacher, Mr. Okumu Jimmy, expressed his sincere appreciation to UCC for such a meaningful initiative. He noted that the partnership demonstrates commitment to empowering young people with relevant digital skills.
Mr. Okumu stated that ICT is essential in modern education and employment, and the launch of the ICT Club will position learners to compete favorably in a technology-driven world. He pledged the school’s full support to ensure the sustainability and growth of the club.
Contribution of UCC and KAWA Uganda
Representatives from UCC and KAWA Uganda encouraged learners to embrace technology positively and responsibly. They assured the school of continued support in capacity building, mentorship, and promoting safe internet usage.
