PREPARATIONS FOR THE UPCOMING LAUNCH OF THE ICT CLUB

Koro Secondary School is in the final stages of preparation for the official launch of the ICT Club, an initiative aimed at promoting digital literacy, innovation, and practical ICT skills among learners.

According to the Club Patron, Mr. Ocen Denis, the formation of the ICT Club is part of the school’s commitment to strengthening technology integration in teaching and learning, in line with the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

Key Preparations Undertaken

  1. Mobilization and Sensitization of Students
    Awareness has been created during assemblies and classroom sessions to encourage students to join the club. Learners have shown great interest, especially those passionate about computers, website design, coding, and digital creativity.

  2. Registration of Members
    A registration process has been organized to formally enroll interested students. The club aims to attract members from all classes to ensure inclusivity and continuity.

  3. Development of Club Objectives and Constitution
    The patron, together with selected student leaders, has drafted the club’s objectives, rules, and leadership structure. The objectives include:

    • Promoting responsible and ethical use of ICT.

    • Enhancing practical skills in computer applications.

    • Encouraging innovation and problem-solving using technology.

    • Preparing students for ICT competitions and project-based learning.

  4. Election and Training of Interim Leaders
    Preparations are underway to identify and orient student leaders who will steer the activities of the club under the guidance of the patron.

  5. Activity Planning
    A tentative activity plan has been prepared, which includes:

    • Basic coding sessions.

    • Website development projects.

    • Digital content creation.

    • Cyber security awareness training.

    • Participation in inter-school ICT competitions.

  6. Resource Organization
    The school administration has supported the initiative by ensuring access to the ICT laboratory and necessary equipment to facilitate practical sessions.

Message from the Club Patron

Mr. Ocen Denis expressed optimism about the club’s impact, noting that the ICT Club will empower students with relevant 21st-century skills, improve creativity, and enhance digital confidence.

He encouraged all students to embrace technology positively and use it as a tool for academic excellence and community development.

The official launch date will be communicated soon, and preparations are ongoing to ensure a successful and impactful event.

S2 and S3 Parents Meeting

The meeting was purposely to communicate academic plan for year 2025. It was reported that the school is experiencing exponential improvement in terms of academics and co-curricular activities evidenced by UACE performance were the best students in the name of Opiyo Erick scored 18points and in the ongoing district football champion both boys and girls won the trophies and they are representing Omoro District in regional competition that will take place in Nywoya District.
