FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY – TERM I, ACADEMIC YEAR 2026

The School Administration of Koro Secondary School held the First General Assembly for Term I on Friday, 20th February 2026. The assembly brought together students, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and members of the prefectorial body to officially begin the academic term.

1. Opening and Welcome Remarks

The Deputy Head Teacher I Madam Lilly Grace Luloyi officially welcomed all students back to school for the 2026 Academic Year. Special recognition was given to:

  • All new students who transferred from other schools.

Students were encouraged to embrace discipline, hard work, and commitment to excellence in both academics and co-curricular activities. The administration emphasized that Term I sets the foundation for the entire academic year.

2. Message to New Students

New students were warmly welcomed and reminded that Koro Secondary School is a community built on:

  • Respect

  • Discipline

  • Academic excellence

  • Responsibility

They were encouraged to interact freely, seek guidance from teachers and prefects, and actively participate in school programs.

3. Communication from the Prefectorial Body

The Head Prefect, on behalf of the prefectorial body, assured the administration of full cooperation in maintaining discipline and order within the school. Key issues highlighted included:

  • Strict observance of school rules and regulations.

  • Proper time management and punctuality.

  • Cleanliness of classrooms and the compound.

  • Respect for school property.

  • Proper conduct during prep time and assemblies.

Students were reminded that prefects serve as a link between the student body and the administration.

4. Communication from Duty Teachers

The duty teachers addressed the assembly and reminded students of:

  • Observing the daily school timetable.

  • Reporting on time for morning parade and lessons.

  • Keeping dormitories and classrooms clean.

  • Maintaining silence during class hours and prep time.

  • Reporting any cases of misconduct or emergencies promptly.

Students were advised to always cooperate with duty teachers as they oversee daily operations and student welfare.

5. Address from the School Administration

The administration emphasized the following key areas:

  • Academic seriousness from the first week of term.

  • Completion of holiday work (where applicable).

  • Proper uniform and grooming standards.

  • Zero tolerance to indiscipline, absenteeism, and exam malpractice.

  • Commitment to the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and practical learning approaches.

Students were encouraged to set personal academic targets for the term.

6. Upcoming Launch of the ICT Club

The assembly also received exciting news about the upcoming launch of the School ICT Club. The administration highlighted that the club will:

  • Promote digital literacy and responsible use of technology.

  • Equip learners with practical ICT skills.

  • Support innovation, website development, coding, and digital creativity.

  • Prepare students for competitions and project-based learning.

Students interested in technology, innovation, and digital problem-solving were encouraged to register once official communication is made regarding the launch date.

7. Conclusion

The assembly concluded with a call for unity, discipline, and teamwork among students and staff. Learners were reminded that success depends on cooperation between students, teachers, prefects, and the administration.

The school officially declared Term I, Academic Year 2026, fully operational.

S2 and S3 Parents Meeting

The meeting was purposely to communicate academic plan for year 2025. It was reported that the school is experiencing exponential improvement in terms of academics and co-curricular activities evidenced by UACE performance were the best students in the name of Opiyo Erick scored 18points and in the ongoing district football champion both boys and girls won the trophies and they are representing Omoro District in regional competition that will take place in Nywoya District.
